Loire Valley Tour May 2026

John and I are hosting a stellar tour of one of the most beautiful and diverse wine regions of the world for 6 days through the Loire Valley. This area has some of the most celebrated chateaux in France and a great range of wines are produced here, sparkling, rosé, delicious white varieties and reds and some sweet wines. This Region also has amazing cultural and gourmet food venues too.

We are visiting some of the very best wine producers and trying their range of wines, which will include the fine Sauvignon Blancs of Sancerre, the versatile Chenin Blancs of Vouvray and Savennieres, the rich and vibrant Cabernet Francs of Saumur- Champigny and Chinon together with Pinot Noir from Sancerre.

We start and end in Paris, with 5 nights in the Loire Valley in 3 comfortable and stylish hotels finishing with an optional degustation dinner at Drouant Restaurant in Paris.

The highlights of the trip are:

• Visit to Chartres Cathedral
• Tastings with the Loire’s top wine producers in Savennieres, Saumur-Champigny, Chinon, Vouvray, Pouilly-Fumé, Sancerre
• Visits to Chateaux with fabulous gardens and museums including Chateau de Chambord the largest and most spectacular chateau in the Loire where we have a tour introducing us to fabulous Renaissance architecture
• Optional spa treatments, bike hire and tennis courts.
• Visit the medieval town of Chinon with its narrow cobbled lanes with little boutiques and medieval half timbered houses and white stone architecture, one of the most beautiful towns in the Loire.
• Some delicious dinners and lunches in some amazing locations – may need a frock/jacket for 1 all inclusive with wine.
• Visit the fabulous Saturday produce market in Sancerre as we will be there in early Summer the “garden of France” will have lots on show

This is a small group tour, where you can travel solo in comfort and this is all facilitated by the charming Simon from Iberian Wine Tours. Iberian is a small company we have travelled with on a number of occasions and come highly recommend. The tours are always relaxed friendly and great fun.
