This is a Bordeaux blend of 49% Merlot, 34% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Cabernet Franc, 3% Malbec and 2% Petit Verdot all grown on the gravelly soil of Hastings in the North Island of New Zealand. The wine has spent 16 months in a mix of old and new French oak.
On the nose it has cassis, black olives and dried tobacco and on the palate red rich fruit, liquorice, roasted rhubarb and dark chocolate with a long finish
